Gel-imaging analysis makes it easier for researchers to do so
In the past many years, researchers needed to preserve the gel through repeated work to record the hard-earned gel results, which wasted a lot of time and energy. Since the advent of gel imagers, researchers no longer need to work so hard, they can use modern means to quickly and accurately record test results, and can easily obtain the analysis and organization of experimental data. Nowadays, gel imaging analysis system is not only a means of gel recording, but also a way of imprinting analysis and data acquisition, which is widely used in the gel recording of protein and DNA.
In fact, most gel-imaging analysis systems are made up of similar components in their early stages, and there is no fundamental difference. But as the product manager of Shanghai Jiapeng Technology Co., Ltd. once said, "On the surface, all gel imaging systems look and operate very similar: they all have a camera, a camera obscura and software to acquire and analyze gel images." However, look deeper and you will find that most gel imaging systems have different product characteristics to meet the needs of different scientific research.
Choosing the right gel imaging system depends on your current budget and future research needs. There are many types and models on the market to choose from, but it's important to remember to keep an eye out for new products -- rapidly evolving optical technology and imaging analysis software may make it easier to use than you ever thought possible.
Notes for operating gel imaging analysis system:
1, the drawer to prevent EB (ethidium bromide, is a degree sensitive fluorescent stain, used to observe the DNA in agarose and polyacrylamide gel) on the drawer or the chest, such as accidentally stained with EB, dry and rinse with water;
2, transmission plate UV lamp life is limited, adjust the image after timely imaging;
3. If no operation is performed for a long time, the overall power supply of the chassis will be turned off after 10 minutes.
4. When shooting, please pay attention not to pour excessive buffer on the projection base;
5, the gel should be cleaned in time to prevent the gel after curing attached to the transmission plate, resulting in unclear imaging;
6, after the completion of the experiment, please do not completely close the drawer of the camera obscura to ensure that the air in the camera obscura is smooth;
7. Please do not use the computer to process documents, etc. If you need to copy pictures, please format the moving disk and insert it;
8. For gel imaging analysis, please take good care of the software dongle and software CD to avoid loss.
